ABOUT

Michael G. Johnson

As a child in the age of Gemini and Apollo, it was my dearest wish to be an astronaut. Not just to fly around the Earth, of course, but also to someday visit Mars, Venus, and Saturn. Such things might transpire, I supposed, well before the year 2000, but that seemed impossibly far away at the time. I therefore had to content myself with such outer space adventures as were to be found in our school library, and occasionally at home on our black and white television.

Many years passed. I still loved outer space, time travel, and black holes, but found it increasingly difficult to find the adventures I craved. No shortage of books or movies . . . but something seemed to be missing. Maybe it was the spiritual component in the typical science fiction universe. The usual background story was that primitive life forms crawled from the sea and evolved into apes, whose descendants later built spaceships and explored the universe. Not exactly food for the soul.

At some point it occurred to me that if what I sought was not being written, perhaps I ought to consider writing it myself. For years that didn’t seem possible.

Things have changed.

I currently live in Orem, Utah with a wonderful wife and a friendly dog. I have recently discovered the pleasures of grandchildren, and in my other life I am a military contractor, involved in the repair and operation of electronic systems.

I hope you enjoy my first book.
